British Values

What are "British Values"?

Ofsted say that British Values are:

  • democracy;
  • the rule of law;
  • individual liberty;
  • mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.
At Sidegate, we promote British Values through the delivery of the National Curriculum, the Religious Education and PSHE curricula, and our school values.

Councillor Roger Fern, Mayor of Ipswich visited the school to explain his role in the community.

He explained the historical significance of all of the paraphernalia that he uses in his role.

We celebrate national events. During our Diamond Jubilee Street Party, we even had a visit from the Queen!
