Ironbridge - Tuesday

posted 3 Mar 2015, 10:07 by Matthew Ferrier
Lots of weary legs this evening as we've just got back from a walk up to the Museum of the Gorge. We crossed the iron bridge that gives Ironbridge its name and managed to get back without anyone ending up in the mud. The rain that was forecast stayed away and its been sunny but cold.
This morning we crossed the car park to the China Museum where we enjoyed making clay faces.  We were lucky enough to watch a potter and some glass blowers at work. Their skills were just amazing! I don't think I've seen the children so engrossed in watching something in all the years we have been coming here. The vase that the glass blowers were making for the British Museum was stunning..... and a snip at just £2200.
Sam, Billy and Cohen have just admitted defeat at trying to sort the mountain of muddy shoes and boots that are in the entrance hallway and we're now ready for supper.
Later this evening we are making bread, something new to this trip so we're intrigued as to what we end up with...
