Remembrance Day

Our Year 6 children attended the Old Cemetery today to lay poppies on the graves of the war dead - see EADT article http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/ipswich_schoolchildren_join_millions_across_the_country_in_honouring_war_dead_on_armistice_day_1_2987785

At school all children from Years 2 to 5 gathered in the hall to sing songs of remembrance and join in with the national 2 minutes silence, this was followed by singing the National Anthem and a prayer to give thanks to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and to those who continue to serve the country today.

It was also good to see a large number of Sidegate children in attendance at the service in Christchurch Park yesterday.
