Scarlet Fever

posted 13 Feb 2014, 01:14 by Wendy James   [ updated 13 Feb 2014, 01:14 ]

Please be aware that we have had three children in Reception diagnosed with Scarlet Fever this week.

This disease is now easily treatable with antibiotics but, as it is not that common anymore, it may be diagnosed as something else before all symptoms are evident.

If you are concerned about the health of your child, please check out the information on NHS Direct and, if you contact your doctor, inform them of the disease being present at school.

The school is required to notify the local Health Protection Unit of cases of the disease and we have done so, as have the surgeries where it has been diagnosed.
