Y5 Ironbridge - Tuesday night update

posted 1 Mar 2016, 14:46 by Matthew Ferrier
Another successful and eventful day. This morning we were creative, designing and making clay faces at Coalport China Museum. We found out about bottle-kilns and saggars and discovered who a Saggar Makers Bottom Knocker was. We also discovered that if you are a vegetarian, then eating and drinking from bone china cups and plates might not be something you would want to do. We were also lucky enough to watch glass-blowing in progress. Patience and precision were much in evidence.
After lunch outside in the sun, we walked up the gorge and over the iron bridge in Ironbridge. Fortunately it stayed dry for us.
This evening we made our own deserts and debuted the Newspaper Game which was a great success.
The forecast for tomorrow looks interesting...!
